Thu, December 10AI-Native Software DevelopmentAI-Native Applications & Product Systems
Application modernization is often delayed as teams balance technical debt against competing priorities. AI offers the potential to accelerate modernization efforts, but it also introduces new challenges. AI-generated changes may be inconsistent, difficult to verify, or limited by the knowledge available to the model about newer language features, libraries, and frameworks.
This session explores practical strategies for using AI to modernize existing applications in a reliable and repeatable way. Rather than focusing on theory, the talk follows a real application modernization journey and examines the decisions, challenges, and trade-offs encountered along the way.
Through this example, we will discuss different approaches to modernization, how to evaluate AI-generated changes, and the methods that can help teams achieve successful outcomes despite the limitations of AI systems. Attendees will gain a practical understanding of how AI can be applied to modernization efforts and what is required to use it effectively in real-world projects.
